Recent Work

This body of work developed out of a need to make sense of complexity, the personal, environmental, even mythic. I'm interested in layers, in textures that feel like they've been weathered or lived through. Some of the pieces lean toward landscape, others into more symbolic territory, but they all circle around the same questions: what's underneath the surface? What is trying to emerge?

Abstract Collage

This series came out of a kind of salvage and scavenging - cutting, tearing, and reassembling bits of older work, paper scraps, text fragments, and painted debris. These pieces are messy on purpose. They're about contradiction, layered memory, and renewal of the discarded and buried. Some of the collages veer toward the figurative, others into masks or myth-shapes, and some on the edge of chaos. I'm interested in that tension between form and refusal, between things tamed and those that are wild. Working this way has felt like a release. It's more immediate, physical and more impulsive than my painting process. However, it returns to the same ideas: what's concealed, what happens when it's left obscured.
